Recently went to El Salvador on quite a whim. this is what i need in life. If I ask, just say yes. Thanks to Vakos going along with my crazy ideas it was made possible. Travelers are amazing people.

Made some silver gelatin prints for my show which is will up until May 30th.

I fell as if my life is in constant motion. Everything picked up one day and never got set back down, and I only begin to realize that when i come back to the place were it all began. I can only dream about the upbeat rhythm my life had at that time. The sound of the ocean in the summer, kids and family gathering in the “passerella” to lay out and play on the big rocks. It was only last summer that I remember having my first 35mm that my mom gave me for my birthday and taking it out for a stroll to show my friends and expiriment with the f-stops and shutterspeeds which intreegued the hell out of me. It was the beginning of summer and I was so ready to dive right in, living up every second of my last season in Sicily.

I have not updated my blog in quite some time. However, I feel like I have grown as a photographer. I’m working on some new work, street photography and the street’s people, as I think of it. I have also been realizing the importance of selection and cropping of my images instead of throwing all my images online I have began to pick and choose the really special one. Night Photography

When you listen to the radio do look for songs you already know or do you search for something you have never heard befor? I suppose it’s kinda like that. Makeing annonomus objects come alive, haveing a sence of feeling within it’s own space is what crosses over to the observer; transfering a feeling that they put into their own perspective. I have been reading “Sleepwalkers” by Doug Aitken; he has such a sence for the places he shoots, he feels it breeth and captures it’s energy. I’m trying to find my place in time and this is just the way i do it.

Solitude

I have been feeling rather inverted lately, solitude is creeping up on me. I go to watch the sun set on the dock, reflecting my thoughts. The ocean reaches across the horizon and is so vast, full of opportunity, and yet no way of reaching it. It’s nice being here but i feel so small and everything becomes impossible, foreign countries that use to make me enthralled with hope now seem distant and scary. I wish to find that light that once sparked me lighting me up. for now its just solitude.

Hey everyone I would like to announce that i will be having my first show at the CCC library from the 1st of november to the 15th of december. I will be presenting my photography taken in Sicily for the first time outside the web. I am so thrilled to have my first show! It is so astonishing to see how much effort goes into putting a show together. From buying and putting together frames to printing and matting I have learned so much thanks my dad! I hope to see everybody November 6th at 5pm for the reception!

New trick

I was placing the two and a quarter film into my holga camera when I realized as I put the backing on my camera no numbers showed up to show me what exposure I was at. This was fine because I wanted to do some experimenting with double exposures anyways. Come to find out it was 220 film not 120, I thought it strange when in the dark room placing it into the canister there was no paper on the back of the roll. I would have exposed film since on holgas there is a little red box where light can get in. I put it through the scanner, really exited to see how they would come out. Looking at my first image “Jesuscandle” made me realize that there are sooo many things to experiment with Holga cameras and any camera for that mater! I have so much to explore and figure out to master the art of photography. Every second is a learning experience! Even when I mess up or do something wrong it can turn out to be a good thing, like this light leaked exposed film! Bah! Who knew? I can’t wait to learn how to control a light exposed shot to the degree that I want it. It will be fun researching this new trick J
